The Gaming Standards Association (GSA), an international trade association that creates benefits for gaming manufacturers, suppliers, and regulators, makes it a goal to facilitate identification, development, promotion, definition, and implementation of standards in order to enable innovation, education, interoperability, and communication for the entire industry. This crucial and important organization within the gaming world has named Playtech, an industry leader in online gambling software, a Platinum Member. So Playtech has joined GSA’s other members in overseeing standards development in the gaming industry. Playtech is actually the GSA’s first Platinum Member whose business is primarily within the online gaming space.
GSA President Peter DeRaedt said, “Playtech joining the association will be driving force supporting our strategic plan and ensuring the associations continued relevance within the industry. As a Platinum member, and with their vast experience and knowledge in the interactive gaming market, Playtech will take a leadership role in our Online Gaming Committee (OGC). The OGC is just beginning its efforts to create online gaming standards, and GSA encourages like-minded business to join us so that they, too, can provide direct input into the future of online gaming.”
“Playtech brings proven experience to GSA and we are very excited to join GSA as a Platinum member,” said Shay Segev, Playtech’s COO. “We strongly believe our extensive industry experience will enable us to contribute tremendously to GSA’s gaming standards development for the benefit of the entire industry. The addition to GSA will also allow us to enhance our open platform functionality and ensure unification across providers’ offerings that will enable endless possibilities in terms of content integration. Such amalgamation will simplify both operators and regulators’ needs industry wide.”
The Gaming Standards Association believes that this collaboration is crucial to the success of the gaming industry. This large organization welcomed nine new international members into its community this past month, and is planning on having a critical presence at the ICE Totally Gaming conference in London. GSA plans to talk about its new standards and initiatives at the show, specifically the plans for the Online Gaming Committee (OGC). This committee is working hard to bring about the optimal levels of standardization and success to online gaming that GSA committees have brought land based gaming to over the past 15 years.
